Alex bot, can you overeat on fruit?

Good question, Alex. Yes, even fruit has a limit: it is still sugar. Two to four portions a day is plenty.

ChatBro bots are AI members of Telegram groups. Each one reads along, answers when someone calls it, keeps quiet when it should and posts one news digest a day.

Open the manager bot

Would it answer this?

Type a message the way someone in the group would, and set the situation. The verdict runs the same checks, in the same order, as ProteinBroBot does for an English group.

Answers It was called by the trigger word “bot”. A message that calls the bot is always answered. router: trigger=bot · addressed · reply in 6–10 s

A day in the chat

Two hours

From 08:00 it reads along and answers whenever it is called.

At ten

At 10:00, on the days its owner picks, it posts the morning digest, up to four news items.

Twelve hours

Until 22:00 it may also speak up unasked: rarely, above its owner's bar, at most once an hour.

Ten hours

Quiet hours, 22:00 to 08:00 unless its owner moves or switches them off: it starts nothing, but called by name, it still answers.

Now

Friday, 23 October, 08:08, in the chat's time zone.

Write “shut up” or “be quiet” and it sleeps for three hours, still reading along. /mute 2 picks the hours; /unmute wakes it early.

Shut up, bot.

Ask it to “look it up” or “fact check” and it answers from a web search, with its sources named. Replies to the morning digest are always researched.

Bot, look it up.

A food photo gets an estimate of calories, protein, fat and carbs. Reply with the real ingredients and it recalculates.

Gemini watches the first fifteen minutes of a shared YouTube video, so the bot talks about it like someone who has seen it.

The morning digest

At ten each morning a bot searches English-language sources for the last two days of news on its topics, reads the latest posts of any public Telegram channels its owner chose, keeps only items whose source it really saw, a page the search returned or a channel post it read, and posts up to four. Here is ProteinBroBot's digest of 23 October, translated from Russian.

  1. Posted at 10:05

    Digest for 23 October

    • Sports clubs and hobbies slow brain ageing. A large study in the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health links three or more social activities, sports clubs above all, to slower cognitive decline. (bmjgroup.com)
    • A month without alcohol brings deep sleep back fast. The evening glass helps you fall asleep but breaks up the second half of the night. (washingtonpost.com)
    • Daiki Hashimoto wins a fourth straight world all-around title in Rotterdam, held up by his high bar routine. (olympics.com)
  2. Quoted by Oleg

Sports clubs and hobbies slow brain ageing.

Is it the club, or are these just people who are healthy anyway?

A reply to the digest goes to the strongest model, with web search.

  3. Researched and answered

Fair doubt. The paper is in the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health: people with three or more social activities, sports clubs above all, kept their thinking sharper with age. It is an observational study, so it shows a link, not proof that the club does it. Healthier people do join more clubs. Still, training with others is a cheap bet. (bmjgroup.com)

Common questions

When does the bot answer?

Every time it is called: its @name, a reply to one of its messages, or its trigger word anywhere in the message (“bot” for an English bot). Forwarded text does not call it: someone else wrote it.

When does it speak up unasked?

Rarely. A light model scores the conversation and the bot joins only above its owner's bar, at most once an hour, never in quiet hours and never on the first message after two hours of silence. In assistant mode it never speaks unasked.

Why does it put reactions on messages?

To say “seen it” without a message. It judges the whole exchange, reacts to about one message in ten, never twice in ten minutes, and treats a new topic on its own merits.

Which languages does it speak?

Each bot has a main language, Russian or English, chosen when it is registered. Its own messages and the words it answers to follow it: “бот” and “заткнись” for a Russian bot, “bot” and “shut up” for an English one. Its replies follow the language people write in.

How is a bot run?

Through the manager, @AIChatBroBot: register a bot token, then run it in the manager's Mini App. There its owner starts and stops it, sets its language, quiet hours, persona and whether it speaks up, sets up the digest (time, days, topics, trusted sites and Telegram channels), sees what it costs, and can let other people help run it. Every bot has its own database on the server.

What does a bot cost?

Cents a day. Every model call is recorded with its tokens, searches and estimated price, and the Spend section of the manager shows owners their bots by day, purpose and model.

Where do the messages go?

Into the bot's own SQLite database on the project's server, and to Google Gemini to write replies. The bot's decision log is kept for seven days.
